Behoorlijk Kakofoon (Quite Cacophonus) is a performance with tape loops that makes you listen to the sounds we hear every day. By repeating and amplifying mundane sounds we all recognize in an analogue way this performance tries to let you perceive sounds less passively.
During the performance you will be guided through three acts. Act 1, The Interior, is made with sounds from inside the house. In Act 2, The Back and Forth, we listen to sounds of transportation. And in the Act 3 we focus on the outdoor sounds we hear everyday.
The loops force to actively listen to sounds we
perceive everyday.
